About
Mission
To develop metrology-grade microwave and remote sensing instrumentation that delivers accurate, repeatable, and dependable performance for mission-critical applications.

Chad A. Baldi
President & Founder
Chad A. Baldi is a microwave and RF instrument engineer and the founder of Baldi Designs, Inc. He has more than two decades of experience developing high-reliability radar, radiometer, and precision measurement systems for spaceflight, airborne, mobile, and ground-based applications. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His work emphasizes microwave metrology, stable and accurate RF and radar system design, and end-to-end engineering that spans architecture, analysis, hardware development, integration, and environmental verification.
Chad has contributed to multiple spaceflight programs including the Surface Water and Ocean Topography mission, Mars Sample Return, the Radar for Icy Moon Exploration instrument on the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer mission, and the EnVision Venus mission. His experience also includes the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover Mission, where he served as the Product Delivery Lead for the Terminal Descent Sensor descent-stage landing radar while employed at NASA. He has designed, developed, and delivered flight-qualified microwave and RF hardware, as well as the metrology-grade test and verification systems required to support instrument-level integration and mission readiness.
Before founding Baldi Designs, Inc., Chad worked extensively in remote sensing and atmospheric research. He developed radar and radiometer instruments for snow and sea-ice characterization, mobile weather radars used in tornado and severe-storm studies, airborne Ku-band radar altimeters used in hurricane field campaigns, and polarimetric Ka-band atmospheric radars deployed internationally to study cloud dynamics. His work combines laboratory precision with operational field experience and supports clients who require robust, accurate, custom microwave instrumentation for demanding aerospace and scientific missions.
